Serving as the newest chapter in the long-running Langrisser franchise, the game promises a new story, new soundtrack, stunning visuals, and strategic gameplay that made the series a fan-favorite.

So, Langrisser: Sea of Sword marks a new beginning for the beloved tactical JRPG franchise, which first started in 1987 before adopting the Langrisser name in 1991. The series earned its reputation by offering large-scale tactical battles, letting you command dozens of units at once, making it stand apart from many strategy RPGs of the time.
Now, the game’s new teaser hints at a world slowly disappearing beneath an endless Sea of Mist, where forgotten memories and fading legends shape the journey ahead.
Here, you’ll play as the Nameless, a mysterious protagonist searching for lost memories, whose fate changes after meeting a white-haired girl and answering the call of the legendary Holy Sword. Instead of simply being a weapon, the sword now serves as a guiding light through the mysterious Sea of Mist as you restore hope across the world.
The game promises classic strategy alongside modern visuals and a global release
According to the devs, Langrisser: Sea of Sword aims to stay true to the strategic foundation that longtime fans love while introducing a modern presentation and new ideas for a new generation of players. Although gameplay footage has not yet been revealed, the project already looks promising to me thanks to its impressive art direction and intriguing setting.
